Tough Questions

What inspires you? What makes the fire burn within you? Does cause or reputation or peoples impression drive you? True motivation is fed by what inspired us. We do what we believe and value. Details can "dumb down" the burning heart if not looked at in the light of our eternal purpose. Luke 22:31 Jesus told peter that Satan desires to sift you (to beat you down ) but verse 32 "I have prayed for you"...Satan wants to throw water on the fire of your heart in Jer 20:9, to silence you from receiving and initiating Gods heart and mind. Keep the fires burning within you, lest the fire dwindles. Complacence, compromise and criticizing are too costly. Souls, Hell, Heaven and broken lives remind us that the fire must burn; we look to Him for the increase. Ez 22:30 God is looking for those who will burn as a burning bush, to stand. Moses stopped and was amazed because he saw the bush was burning but not consumed. He promises a spirit of fire in Isa 4.4. On your knees ask yourself these tough question today, be real with God and he will set an inferno blazing within you that will change your life. Time is short, our days are numbered lets not be spectators but step into the arena!

There are times though when the call to stay on fire feels overwhelming and near impossible in today’s world. For me the cooling factor is an overwhelming sadness. I know that we are commanded to rest in the Lord, but the constant onslaught of challenges from the world around me gives me the sensation of exhaustion, and it is all the more difficult to find that “rest” in the midst of being so tired of the changes around me. I find myself in an increasing minority even amongst peers in my own generation who grew up with the same spiritual benefits that I had. Even there amidst these “Christians” there is such a willingness to embrace relative thinking that they have as much difficulty as the world does in defining good from evil. Watching the world and the “Christians” of my generation essentially go on what appears to be a mass insanity binge (when protecting life in the womb becomes a morally acceptable minor issue for a “Christian”, I consider that insanity) is severely depressing.

I don’t think I’m burning as bright as I could, that depressiveness is to strong right now. At the moment I’m just trying to hold onto a steady flame. I’m just trying to keep my head above water so that my focus on God doesn’t diminish.

WHen David was overwhelmed he cried out to God and he was led to a deeper walk. Ps 61. Looking around at people will always give a minority status. God grace encourages us and strengthens. Focus on Christ, call out to him and be discipled in His love for you and your eternal purpose. You are not alone.
