Cop-outs

Cop-outs are excuses that we allow to supersede the will of God. The flesh will do everything it can to avoid the Cross. Self preservation doesn’t lead anyone forward. Samson entertained Delilah and his emotions controlled his will. She was a game to him and Samson allowed himself to be entangled by her in Judges 14. Excuses take the faith “edge” away from the believer and in time create a dull heart. As the flesh is tolerated retrogression will dismantle the believer. We must be radical with our flesh. The old rugged cross slays the believers so only the new man is left standing. Coming under the authority of Christ empowers our new nature to rule. Don’t give the reins of your soul to anyone or anything today. The devil always has a plan for us to “wiggle out” of Gods plan. Stand firm with your face beholding Him in Ps 16.8; and if we perish, we perish, to the glory of God. The only way out is through the Cross.
