Check-point Charlie

I am remembering in the early 90’s traveling in the Ukraine and every 3 miles there were checkpoints were our papers were checked and the police looked to see what we were doing. Each experience God supernaturally led us through. The purpose of the check points was in case of emergency or a “crack down” the city could be “shut down” quickly. The value of having the old landmarks as check points in our heart and mind is that we guard our hearts from dangerous hazardous materials. Phil 4:8 shows us the boundaries of the mind of Christ. “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things”. On the road we have the painted line which directs us but there are also the guard rails and even jersey barriers if we get out of control. Projections may come to try to de-rail us from the mind of Christ in Phil 2:5. Our will is like that armed guard; we guard the truth of who we are by fellowshipping with Christ and reaffirming our true identity in Him. Checkpoints are so valuable to bind the strongman from ravaging our mind and emotions. We can’t pierce the darkness with a dull sword! Stir yourself up in the grace reality of who Christ has made you to be. When the devil asked us for “our papers” and by what permissions we have to do what we are doing – we can show him the inspired papers of the Word!
