Going through the motions?
A personal walk with God precedes power with God. What is not personal we will one day forsake. Think about it…if we were the only ones on the earth Christ would have still come for us! SOS 1:4-8 is a picture of how a person can be drawn to God in a personal real way and then drifts away. It is easy to take “care of others vineyards but our own have I not kept”. Without a balance of intimacy with God we can do the “good things” but not the perfect work. God wants us to walk with him moment by moment; more than doing a “great work for Him”! The great work will come as an overflow of fellowship with a great big God. What touches Gods heart must touch our heart. How does this happen? We draw near to Him by faith, and “Hide his word in our heart” and we are changed into his likeness. We follow His presence which always leads to His perfect will. If we are too busy for God then we are living in a false balance - Proverbs 11:1. God has such a desire to share His secrets with you - Deut 29:29. He is a Personal Savior, We have a Real life, with a Real eternal hope.
